ESP32-C3 SuperMini
Espressif (generic / various) · esp32c3
Compact WiFi-capable ESP32 dev board with native USB. Cheapest path to a Polyfence node — pair it with an external GPS module if your use case needs location.
Polyfence is in Early Access — APIs and limits may still change. Your feedback shapes what we build.
These are the boards we build and maintain firmware for — flash one with the setup wizard and it’s reporting zones in minutes. Polyfence is the geofence layer at heart — a portable C library (polyfence-embedded), so if you’ve got your own hardware you can run the same zones there instead. Most 32-bit MCUs and Linux are fair game: nRF52, ESP32, STM32, RP2040.
Plug in, walk through the wizard, watch it report. End-to-end working today.

Espressif (generic / various) · esp32c3
Compact WiFi-capable ESP32 dev board with native USB. Cheapest path to a Polyfence node — pair it with an external GPS module if your use case needs location.
Seeed Studio · nrf52840
Field-grade tracker with LoRa SX1262, GPS, OLED, and a battery. Today the device reaches Polyfence through the wizard's browser tab; LoRaWAN backhaul on the roadmap.
Heltec Automation · esp32s3
Production-class board with a display. ESP32-S3 with built-in WiFi, LoRa SX1262, UC6580 GPS, and a 0.96" colour screen — connects to Polyfence over your own WiFi, no computer needed once it's set up.

LilyGo · nrf52840
Wearable, worker-safety form factor. nRF52840 with LoRa SX1262 and L76K GPS. Same chip family as the Wio Tracker L1, so the same geofencing runs unchanged — only the size and shape differ. GPS lock + on-device geofencing bench-verified; flashable via polyfence.io/flash.
Boards on the build list — no firmware port yet, but on the queue.

LilyGo · esp32s3
Cellular tracker. ESP32-S3 with a SIM7080G LTE-M / NB-IoT modem and GPS — reaches Polyfence directly over the mobile network, no gateway needed. Good for vehicle, fleet, and lone-worker tracking anywhere there's cell coverage.

Olimex · esp32
Industrial board. Mains-powered ESP32 with wired 100 Mbit Ethernet and an industrial temperature rating — connects to Polyfence over MQTT or HTTPS, for fixed installs where WiFi and radio aren't an option.
Boards we plan to support but haven't started yet — listed so you can see what's coming (ESP32 and cellular).

LilyGo · esp32
A popular ESP32 board for asset and livestock tracking — built-in 18650 battery holder, LoRa SX127x, and NEO-6M GPS.

Particle · nrf52840
A cellular option that runs through Particle's cloud — an alternative to the T-SIM7080G-S3 for teams already using Particle.
If your board can reach the internet over WiFi, cellular, or LoRa, you can run polyfence-embedded on it directly — start from the developer docs. Want official firmware for a specific board? Tell us and we’ll weigh it.
